Using 950m and i5 6300 for siemens nx software

Hello,

For my studie (automotive ) i need a laptop, they'd like me to just drop 1,4k for a mobile workstation but i bought a hp pavilion with a 950m and i5, ami f cked?

red is 950m... According to this graph i think i am.. Any suggestions? I have to be able to use the program.

Mobile workstations are poor, but you would in fact need more threads akin to a 7700HQ with 8 threads.
Another better option is a Ryzen 1700 mini ITX system.
Thoughts?
Is this just for work?
I can make a PC as small as a modem that'll fit your needs for about 700.

chug. if im correct these automotive laptops have to go from place to place inside cars, engine bays, diagnostic machines, benches. all over the shop. a mobile pc is not recommended here. i know what he means.

Ah okay, mb. I was thinking studying in-workplace which is what I did.
An i7 7700HQ laptop is defs recommended.

I indeed need to take it all over the place and have to be able to use the siemens nx cad program

I looked up what an i7 7700HQ laptop would cost but thats 999+ euros 0.0
I'm more comfortable in the 500 euro range, im only a student eah 😛

And chug, yousaid it'll run, but would it be slow as hell or run sortof properly?
I'll see if i can download the program so i can test it out!

Somewhat properly.
It'll be less than half the speed of a 7700HQ laptop but it'll run.
You should be good.
500 Euros isn't going to get you far in regards to a laptop, you'll be alright with what you have.
