Using a 144 MHz monitor with a laptop Via Display Port

If i hook up a 144 mhz monitor ( Asus VG248QE 24" ) via display port to this computer https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834154373R will I be able to take advantage of the 144 mhz?

Depending on the game, yes.
A 1060 is pretty good, but 144fps is hard to achieve in games that aren't simple like CS:GO.

I want to play overwatch on competitive setting so like low and 75% renderscale with some of the other things like effect and anti alias on high/max.

Yeah, no problem, OW is also easy to run.

I assume you're going to travel a lot as well, otherwise a laptop is a bad way to spend money if you just want to play overwatch well.

Yes its going to double as a school/learning to code computer. I need it to be mobile so i can move to quiet areas to focus since i get distracted easily.
