using a 3 pin case fan for a psu

i've looked up another threads, but they only say to use a molex to 3 pin adapter. i was thinking to cut the cables and tape them to the ones on the psu fan plug, but the case fan has a tachometric wire that the psu does not have. do i need it for the fan to work, or can i just ignore it and only use the ground and voltage ones?

got a pretty decent psu, but the fan on it became so noisy because it is touching it's frame so i want to replace that fan with a regular 3pin fan i have laying around here

why would it not be a good idea to use tape though?

Because tape normally peels off while getting warm.

Which PSU is it?

Is a 12V fan in the PSU? What´s the max. current (Ampere "A") of it?
If the max. current of your spare fan is higher, it wouldn´t be possible to connect it to the PSU fan connector.

The fan will be controlled by voltage via the PSU connector itself, the sense signal won´t be needed then.
eventually the fan spins at full power the whole time

it's an aerocool strike-x 500w. the fan is the default one, didn't see any markings on the fan except the ones with the direction of the air flow. it is most likely a 12v fan. how would recommend to insulate the soldering it tape is not that good?
