Wondering if something like this can be done. Have a few VCR's
which came with one of these to control ones satalite or cable box
(to switch to the proper chanel before recordiing) Never used it
myself.

The reason for this odd inquiry: There exists only one format to
record HDTV programming, that being D-VHS & that must be done
through via the I.Link (firewire, IEEE 1394) port. Alas due to the
movie industry's paranoia, one cannot program these vcr's to time
shift record on the firewire port, thus one has to be there to start a
recording, you can use your quick timer.
So the thought is, could one use this controller hooked to another
vcr to activate the DVHS one, & thus record things one might want
to view later.

Probably not, as it won't h ave the smarts to control another VCR.
