Using a hard drive formatted in a external enclosure internally

So i have bought a 2TB hard drive than i plan to put into a external enclosure and format it to use as a external hard drive at least temporarily while i move files off another external drive which has a faulty USB port.

If in the future i want to connect the drive to my PC and just use it as second internal drive (just for storage not to run a OS on it) will it just show up with all the data still there or would i have to re-format the drive from scratch and lose all the files.

You can use it as a secondary storage drive, just don't connect it to a tv or anything.

This depends on particular external enclosure. It may use some non-standard partitioning of HDD. Then you'd have to repartition/reformat HDD after moving it to PC internally.

It should show up fine. I've had old OS installations and files show up on newer systems. They wouldn't have worked as boot drives, but the files were accessible.

Why would would connecting it to a tv cause an issue?

I have had corrupt external hard drives on connecting with a smart and normal tv. The hd became unreadable. Don't knowthe exact reason though, maybe because the hdd is not ejected correctly or power issues.
