Using a HDD from a Windows PC on a Mac

I have a 1.5 TB HDD filled with music and movies that I was using in my PC. If I stick it in a 3.5" USB enclosure for use with my Mac laptop, will the Mac be able to read the files on it, add them to iTunes, etc.?

It depends on the version of macOS you have.
