Using a laptop as a second screen help.

Hello, I've been looking into using my school laptop as a second screen for my desktop, but every guide that I find on how to do that just describe how to set up a laptop as a second monitor for another monitor, not a PC. So, I was wondering. Is it as simple as plugging an HDMI cable to my laptop, and then plugging the other end to my desktop's GPU? Would that work?

No that will not work.
Only a tiny minority of laptops have HDMI IN. You're probably doesn't.

No that will not work.

You would need a video input which your laptop likely doesn't have. The hdmi port on your laptop is likely output only.

There is no way to do it if you laptop has no inputs like most don't. The hdmi is only an output.

I looked at the box it came in, it's an Asus F55A if I'm correct. I've looked at the images and they look just like it.

Well, dang. I'm planning on buying a better monitor anyway, but I've just recently bought a keyboard and headset, so I don't have that kind of money anymore.I guess I'll have to wait. Thank you anyway, though.
