[SOLVED] Using a laptop with screen unplugged ok?

My new Sager laptop screen was damaged during shipping, so I have to send it back before I get a replacement and it will be down a couple of days. Can I put some electrical tape on the connection cable, plug my laptop into an external monitor and still use it safely, or should I leave it off and unplugged until the new screen arrives? Not sure if it's safe to leave cable unplugged.

Nothing will happen if you use it with the cable unplugged. I would not put any tape over the connection since that will leave sticky residue on the connectors.

It is safe if you keep your display connection unplugged and yes you can use an external display and use it safely.
