Using a non AMD made graphics card with an AMD Apu

Are graphics cards like Nvidia compatible with systems using an AMD CPU or APU? I'm assuming this is a pretty simple easy question, Do I need to use an AMD GPU if my CPU Is also AMD? Or can they be crossed and used together? Example : Using and AMD A10 Quad core with a Geforce GTX 650 TI

You can use any graphics card with any cpu, however you will not be able to use the dual graphics unless you use certain amd video cards.

AMD APUs can only Crossfire with certain AMD GPUs. See here for more info:

You can't Crossfire any Nvidia GPU with any AMD APU. That is simply not possible.

What about a simple Dualhead-Setup without Crossfire?
