I just ordered a 1080 card , I want to use one of my old cards for the phys x but I have a problem. I have one desktop for web searching and some steam games. it is older core2 duo with two nvidia 660 ti in sli, My main desktop is for VR (Vive) 5830k I-7, 970 graphic card (upgrading to 1080)

Should I move the 970 to older computer and use one of my 660ti's for phys x
or should I use the 970 for phys x on the VR computer/
I am afraid that the 660ti might slow down the 1080' performance.
but I also want to help out my older computer.

any suggestion or advice would be appreciated.

Solution
Waste of gtx660 on the core 2 duo machine. Get a cheap core 2 quad for it like the q6600 ($15-$20) or if your motherboard supports a q9650 would be better ($50). Sell the gtx 660s and keep the gtx 970.

Physx cards are a waste.
