Can this be done with an adapter of some sort? If so, any recommendations? I
am considering going PC for Madden 2005, but I have never bought a
controller for the PC, so I don't know much about what's good, what's bad,
and what's ugly.

Thanks for any help.

There are a bunch of adapters, but they all have compatibility problems. The
easiest to get is the radioshack one (check website for which stores), but
the playmaker doesnt work properly (its rotated 90 degrees). I heard the
Super Dual Box converter works for playmaker, you can buy them online and on
ebay but i havent tried one myself. The main problem with them is that the
numbers are different from standard Logitech/Gravis controllers so it can be
real confusing even if you remap the buttons.

Today I discovered a controller that looks really good though, the Logitech
Rumblepad 2 (NOT 1!!!). I'm gonna buy it tonight and see if its any good.
Its the same design as the Dual Action, but supposedly stronger. (the Dual
Actions left stick stops working after a while)

I've just ordered a couple of these... they seem to be just what you're looking for
