I've got an i5-9400f and I've just stumbled across the AMD RX 6800 XT which is quite to my liking. Any dangers here? I know that from the 10th gen onwards you can even use Resizable BAR between them, but how about my 9th gen CPU? Will it work normally with the AMD GPU?

No dangers at all. Zero.

Just make sure your PSU is sufficient to power the RX 6800 XT.
Cool, thanks! Yeah, I think imma go with 600-650W in that case. I'll let the guy who builds my PC decide, he'll know how much all the components need.
Btw, you think that this would be a good choice for some budget 4k gaming on medium-high settings and 60fps? I really don't need all that Ultra stuff, especially not with shadows and other overkill stuff like that. As far as I read 9400f + 6800 XT should give me stable 70-75fps in most games on high settings in 4k, so I'd even have some wiggle room if the benchmarks were correct.
