Using 'Crossfire X' option of MSI N650 (GTX650) 2GD5 OC graphics card with an AMD FX-6100 processor and MSI 970-G43 Mainboard

Hi there everyone. I've been looking for some suggestions regarding this thread. I've been thinking of buying a MSI N650 2GD5 OC graphics card for my PC. But I'm not sure whether I'll be able to crossfire with this one. I used to know that normally it is not possible to crossfire a Nvidia card with AMD processor and mainboard. My processor is AMD FX-6100 black edition and my mainboard is MSI 970A-G43. I came up with an assumption that maybe I'll be to crossfire my CPU using this graphics card as both my mainboard and this graphics card comes from the same company. Will you guys please help me out by suggesting me whether it's possible or not? I really liked this card and wanna buy it because it's totally under my budget. Regards..........

Nvidia cards don't support crossfire. Nvidia uses sli and the gtx 650 doesn't support SLI either. Also you can't crossfire a cpu and gpu. Crossfire and sli are for gpus only.

@bignastyid - You can Crossfire an AMD graphics card with an AMD APU.

@desekrator - You do not have CPU graphics. Only the AMD APUs have embedded graphics. The FX series of processor from AMD do not.

Since the motherboard you list does not come with any graphics output, you either are already using a discrete graphics card, or you're mistaken in which motherboard you have.

Well yes U r right. The mainboard didn't come with any built-in graphics, I did have to buy a card for it. Well I'm thinking of changing it. My present card is Sapphire Radeon HD 6450. Gonna update it.

Yes you can use the graphics card in your pc. Crossfire is when you use two amd gpu's together to get better performance. If you are thinking about running your card in crossfire with the gtx 650 that will not work.

I know. AMD calls it dual graphics, and it's still an interaction between gpus(one of them just happens to be on the same chip as the CPU).
