Want to have mini computer running amazon music thru an outboard DAC and into an input (RCA) on Home theater receiver. Also need to output HDMI video , from computer, through receiver, if possible, to TV so I can see what's playing and have controls available. Have Windows 10. Maybe I have to run the HDMI from the computer to another HDMI input directly to the TV and bypass the receiver?? Suppose that would work . Any other thoughts? Thanks

I would be very wary about all that.

Too easy perhaps to create some of sort loop or otherwise have electrical currents going the "wrong way(s)".

Are you able to sketch out a simple diagram that shows what you are considering to do?

Show and identify all devices (make & mode), all ports and cable connections between the devices.

Something like:

Mini-computer (playing Amazon Music)----> [Outboard DAC] ----some cable ---> [Input RCA] Home theater receiver [HDMI] --- HDMI video cable ---> TV

NOTE: that is not a recommended connection plan. Just a template that you can edit and correct as necessary to show your requirements and plan(s).

Plan 1, Plan 2,etc. if necessary.

Include as much detail as you can.

You do not want any audio or ground loops.
