I'm going to upgrade my pc to an Intel 5 system. Currently I have 8 GB DDR3 1600 mhz (not sure about voltage,1.5 or 1.65) Rams. I really don't want to buy DDR4 Rams if I can use mines.

So, if I buy an I5 6600 and Asus B150M Plus D3 mobo, would it make any problems? I know that Skylake CPUs designed to use with Rams under 1.35V but I've seen people using with DDR3 with no problem.

If it's going to make big problems I'd rather go with I5 4460

My Rams are Kingston Hyper X KHX1600C9D3/4G

Better off sticking with haswell then. No chance I'd run ram at 1.5v all day long just to have slow ram. If you were getting some crazy 4200mhz speed out of a kit of ddr4 and did a lot of editing maybe. But in your case I'd stay with the 4460 or get some ddr4. You know you can buy it used and sell your ddr3 and have a very small net change in price. I

I've considered selling my old parts and buying DDR4 but still costs %30+ more than 4460 which I can't afford
