I have a HP Pavilion 590-p109. I ordered a DDR4-2400 8GB ram for it to bring it up to 16GB. Upon opening the case, I found out that the installed 8GB ram is DDR4-2666. Will these work together or will I need to send it back and exchange it for a DDR4-2666. I realize I should have done a more thorough inspection before ordering the new ram. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Might work but if it does the ram will likely run at 2400 speed.

Is that this one?

I'd so then the board only supports 2400mhz ram speeds natively.

Likely HP installed 2666mhz because that's what they had at the time of building.

It may pair ok, it may not, the easiest way is simply to try it - the 2666mhz in the eis likely only running at 2400mhz anyway.
Yessir, that's the PC I have. I'll certainly try it, and see if it works. Will keep everyone that was good enough to respond an update. Thanks!!
