Using different res' than native will increase latency/InputLag?

Hello. I was wondering if instead using 1920x1080 on my monitor, used 1280x720, there would be more latency/input lag. Also, Windows says if I use something smaller than Xx768, some things couldn't show up on the screen, is that true or relevant? I like to use 1280x720 because of performance and the screen looks bigger. And how much performamce lost would there be using 1920x1080 instead of 1280x720? Does the screen look bigger, will the latency increase be big and would things not show up on screen? Thanks.
