Ok, so i have hp folio 9470m Laptop that has SSD installed with complete Win10 pro and other apps. Will it be possible for me to use the SSD to my Desktop dell optiplex 790 as its boot OS?

i am avoiding the hassle to install windows from scratch for my desktop.
please advise, thankyou in advance!

you can reuse the SSD but you will have to do a clean install of windows 10 because of so many hardware changes from one laptop to another. if your dell laptop does not have a valid license for windows 10 then the HP license will not carry over

2 considerations, Operation and Licensing.

For the Operation (Does it boot up?), I give that about a 5% chance of Yes.
For the Licensing (Will it still remain activated?), it depends.

Where did the OS license come from? Preinstalled on the HP? 0%.
Something you bought and installed? Then maybe.

You'll still need to do a full wipe and reinstall.
