Years ago when I was in highschool my family had a desktop computer that I believe was hardwired with an ethernet cord. At the same time, in my room I had a lap top running off of a wifi conncetion. We got rid of the desktop and had a laptop and tablets for a few years. Now we have a desktop using an ethernet cord.. But I cannot hook this cord to the wifi at the same time. Creating the dilemma of either being able to use our tablets or the desktop.

Is there a type of adapter I can buy? Or is there simply something I can so in my settings to fix this issue?

I know we've had this setup before, I just can't seem to remember how it was done.

I have windows 10
a dsl modem
and a netgear wireless router

Thanks in advance!!!

You're looking to connect the desktop, via ethernet cable, to....the router?
How many ports are on the back of the Netgear router? What exact model is it?

What you are implying when you plug in the desktop, the tablets die. That's nearly impossible. Post a diagram how everything is hooked up currently.
