Hey, I have an HP Laptop with only 1 Audio jack, the symbol beside the jack shows a headphone with mic on it, so it seems to be a combo jack.

My problem is that I have Logitech headphones with a mic on them (like the customer service thingy?) and it has a red plug and a black plug for the mic and sound. I need to use teamspeak and so I need sound on my headphones and be able to use the mic as well.

Does an audio splitter work for this, or am I thinking wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Great, I was talking about this when I mentioned it in my post.

Thanks!

I found a fix to the problem, no adapter necessary. I had the exact same problem. This is really wierd but to make the computer recognize BOTH microphones at the same time, what you do is you need to uninstall the "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver". For some reason in my case it also improved the sound quality when I uninstalled it.

Before my computer only noticed the "2- Realtek High Definition Audio", and when I plugged in my headphones it still only displayed one and just switched over to the mic of the headset. Now that I uninstalled the driver, it notices the two different mic's and you can set as default.

Thanks a lot for this solution. It is really very helpful. I purchased the item immediately.

An adapter is necessary. There is only one physical jack on the computer (or in my case on the smartphone). Any software changes will not help.

I actually have noticed that the inbuilt mic of my new Acer Aspire E5-571 was making so much noise because of HDD which had some clicks when working , and also it made more when typing or just moving the laptop and that doesn't let me record a my clear voice or just let my voice be clear to others when talking on Skype,Viber....
So i've been working on this since 3 days and i finally found out and FIXED IT (im using my Earphone's microphone while i have only 1 Audio Jack Combo)

And all what i needed is Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs (goo.gl/b6IX)
Download then install it and Reboot your laptop (Rebooting is necessary)
Then follow these steps
1st
Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "HD Audio Manager"
2nd

Then Click on "OK" in the Audio Manager 😉
