Using Headphones and Mic with only 1 audio jack

so i bought a headset but it has 2 outputs one for mic one for sound, my laptop only has one input for audio, would something like this fix my problem? If you link me something pls make it from canadian amazon. thanks.

You're on the right track but that adapter is not suitable if your headset has 3.5mm jack plugs because it's designed for headsets which have RCA-type plugs.

Your adaptor splits one into two, wrong. the one Phillip posted is what you want takes your two plugs and makes them one, just as you needed for the laptop.
