using headset

whe i try to use my mic and headphone set on the messenger the mic works but
the headphones dont can anyone help with that i have tried to configure them
going through the usual way but although it says they are configured
correctly the headpnes still dont work, any help would be appreciated

Make the sure the headphone jack is plugged into the correct input for your
computer.

the mic wire is plugged into the mic hole in your computer. The headset
speakers need to be plugged into the correct hole too - I never had a
headset, but I imagine it has a separate wire & needs to be plugged into
the speaker-out hole. My computer has the appropriate holes (plugs) in
the back, along with a different input not for a mic. But also it has two
holes (plugs) in the front, and it looks like one is for the microphone
and the other has a picture of headphones.. So I could use the rear hole
for speaker output probably since it isn't amplified, or easier to use the
holes in front - probably over-rides rear speaker hole. I could unplug
the headphone wire in front and it would revert to external amplified
speakers.

Anyways - just make sure the correct hole is used for your headphone wire.
As long as you had external speakers that worked before...
