Using Keyboard vs Controller

This isn't necessarily a "question". Its more see me just sharing my opinion and looking for others opinions on the topic. A few weeks back I got pc and starting gaming on it. I loved it and I still do. Here's my issue with it. The keyboard honestly seems like trash to me compared to a controller. Keyboards are not "pressure sensitive". A company tried to create and patent a pressure sensitive keyboard but it didnt go as planned. I didnt even notice this flaw until I went from playing things like firewatch and hello neighbor, to playing battlegrounds. Everytime you try to creep around a corner very slowly, your player jolts forward everytime your tap the forward key. This is extremely annoying to me and it feels like im playing on an Atari. Why would anyone want to play on a keyboard? Keyboards were not invented with the intentions of using them for gaming. A contrtom the other hand was invented for gaming. Controllers fit nicely in your hand. Controllers have analog sticks which react in real time with the amount of movement on the stick. Not sure if the makes sense or not. I just dont understand why there is a big war between gamers when it comes to platforms when i think consoles totally win in their control types. Now obviously pc wins and always will win when it comes to everything else about gaming hands down. Love my pc and it makes every game look 100% better than consoles version but its just the petty keyboard that kills the vibe. Ive been using an xone controller ever since I realized this. Let me know your thoughts on this. Im sure there will be at least one die hard pc fanboy who flips shit on me. But thats ok i already have the popcorn ready.

controllers are great for certain games, rocket league for example. a controller on a FPS is beyond unusable. I prefer a keyboard even for rocket league because I can hit up and left and jump and turbo all at the same instant, controllers are primarily all thumbs.

fighting games are another primary use where the controller is superior. for those cases I have my PS3 controller, everything else is this

for my left hand and this for the right

and this for typing...
While I see your point about the movement using the keyboard, that is generally a result of the game and not the hardware. Other games, for example the last game I played (rust) allows for exceptional "creeping" especially when crouched.

Beyond that point, keyboards arent any better or worse in my opinion compared to a controller, its just a different layout of buttons.

Now the mouse is a different story. The ability to make extremely small fundamental movements, as well as basically on the fly acceleration changes are quite fantastic. An analog stick only has so much gradient from "stop" to "full movement (aiming, etc). A mouse can move as fast as you can, aiming is far easier (now, this does not take into account auto aim which is present in every console game ever made).

As a final point, I used to be absolute trash on KB+M, coming from playstation. But once I got comfortable with it, my skill with KB+M far exceeded whatever I could have done on a controller.

the nostromo n52 drivers are useless for me, macros are for babies. windows 10 see's it as a keyboard. as a trackball user the scroll wheel is a bonus.

It just depends on the PC game, but there's the superiority I suppose. Your ability to choose. You can play on keyboard/mouse, and instantly pick up a controller and use that if the game switches modes to something like driving or flying.

I'm pretty sure any platform wars are just long running jokes or conflicts stoked by the companies themselves to divide and conquer the market space. People seem to fiercely defend their purchasing decisions and freely advertise for their chosen company.

Totally agree with you guys on the mouse statements. Mouses are far better than analog sticks. Like you said, you can move the mouse slowly or instantly sweep it as fast as you want.
