Using laptop screen as monitor for newly built pc

Hey there forum!

I'm about to receive all the necessary components and build my new system very soon, but unfortunately I'm out of luck right now because it seems there will be some delay until i get my monitor.

So I was wondering whether or not it is possible to connect my fresh build via a D-sub cable to my laptop and use its screen as a monitor for now to set up operating system, install drivers, etc.

So is it possible?

laptops have video outputs, but no input. you'll need a monitor, or a tv if you have one with a suitable input.

Usually laptops only have monitor outs. Try a flatscreen tv!
