[SOLVED] Using M.2 NVMe to PCI-e expansion card in conjunction with M/B M.2 slot storage?

I'm using a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD as my only storage on my ASUS Z490-P build, and I want to add another drive, but I'm looking for an alternate to SATA. I see that there are M.2 NVMe to PCI-e expansion cards available, that support PCI-e Channel NVME/SATA Protocol M.2 SSD, so I'm trying to figure out if I will get the slower 6Gbps SATA speed, or the faster NVMe speed if I use a NVMe SSD in one of these PCI-e cards, in conjunction with the NVMe SSD I already have in the motherboard slot? If I cannot get the benefit of the NVMe speeds via one of these cards, I may as well just stick an SATA SSD in the build...can anyone advise on this?
Thanks, Max

Solution
What specific PCIe adapter are you looking at?

A proper one will give full performance of an NVMe M.2 drive.
Some can take both a SATA M.2 and NVMe M.2, at the same time.

It's an Orico M.2 NVME to PCI-E 3.0 x4 Expansion Card...yes, I see it supports both, but I'd use it with NVMe, so would I get the benefit of the better speed - and no conflict with the NVMe I have in the MB slot?
