[SOLVED] Using more vram than available?

Hi all, can someone explain what happens if i used more vram than what i have? So if i run ghost recon breakpoint at ultimate settings which uses about 7gb vram on my rtx 2060 with 6gb vram, what will happen? I read that my system ram will be used instead and that causes stutters.

Hi poorbugger.

Your performance will tank horribly, since textures will have to be loaded into VRAM more often than intended. The reason for this is that your system stores the stuff it can't fit into VRAM to your RAM or even pulls them from the hard drive. Stuttering and fps drop.
