[SOLVED] Using multiple monitor inputs for one PC

would there be a problem plugging the on board graphics and GPU output to different inputs on the same monitor? I have a game I am trying to troubleshoot that runs with on-board graphics and freezes when using the out on the GPU. It appears to be game specific as everything else seems to work fine.

Nothing wrong with that. The monitor only displays one signal/ input at a time.

i don't know if that will work do to the onboard shuts off when the gpu is plugged in.

Yeah, you'd have to toggle which one is active in the BIOS instead of leaving it on auto select.

So I tried it out... It looks like Windows has decided to recognize this setup as multiple displays and the system BIOS is going to go along with it. I do have to power off the monitor at startup though or neither connection is recognized. It is also letting me switch between the two as long as I power the monitor off after changing inputs.
