Does anyone see any problems with using my HP 8x4x32 cd burner to run all my games? I am building a new rig and I need to save some money so I am going to hold off on the dvd player for awile and have this thing run all my software until I can afford a dvd player. Is this a good idea? I would test it with some games but my video card I have now won't even play them

Thanks

It won't do any harm. My thought is that the drives are made to be used so u might as well use them.

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as it doesn't die on you :)

Every CDRW has a limited number of "power on hours," defined as the "mean time between failure" (MTBF). If you use your CDRW to play games, you are subtracting from its power on hours, leaving your drive with a potentially shorter life.
