Using My Dad's Windows 7 CD

U can use it, but only for the 30-90days.

U need to get a new licence #, but u can use it to install or repair.

If u would try it to activate, your dads PC would tell him that he is using not genuine copy and would stop working. I think he would not like u at the moment : )

If u want to install, do not use any number, skip that during the install.
 
(you can only use the cd key once on either x86(32bit) or x64(64 bit) versions)

best to get the 64bit version

What matters is what licence # u will buy for yourself.

What windows do want to own?

x64bit Home Premium is most suited for any ones use.
 
I've never heard of a Windows 7 installation disc with all of those options. Just go buy your own Win 7 Home Prem. before your dad finds out. Actual purchase of a Win 7 disc implies that a license is valid, depending on which version you buy.
It's not a matter of the physical disc, it's the registration code which comes with it that counts.
