Hi guys this might possibly be a question you have gone over several times before but I ran a few searches and couldnt find an answer so I will go ahead and ask it anyway.

This is my monitor

Asus VW266H 25.5"

I am moving and would want to get rid of my old television and use my monitor as my television. I know I could buy a TV tuner card for my computer but that is a less desireable option for me, and would be a last resort.

My question is would I be able to use a Shaw HD DVR such as this one to connect my HD cable to my monitor? Would this work out of the box?Would I get a monthly fee for having more than one DVR? What are your guys thoughs?

Thank you in advance for any help.

So long as your box has an HDMI out port, you should be fine. For example, my flat screen recently died and while I am waiting for a new one to come in, I'm using a 23" Dell monitor as my TV. The monitor doesn't have an HDMI port, so I used an DVI to HDMI connector to get it working. It works like a charm as a TV- full HD and everything.
