Hey all---I just got a AOC 2460p monitor which has g-sync. I had a 60 hz. Dell and the difference is night and day. My question is does it pay to use nvidea's DSR mode? I tried it with 4K and it killed the frame rate but with 2550 x 1440p it only knocked off about 10 fps. Does anyone have any experience with DSR and if you do,was it a big upgrade in graphics in your opnion?-Looking foward to everyones opnion.

I do think it's actually pretty great. We had a discussion about it a while back and some people wrote that they thought it could be a replacement for a higher resolution monitor, even 4k. I'm not sure about that exactly, but it does smooth out textures on a 1080p monitor (at the expense of performance), but that also means you might be able to lower AA settings a bit. Like I said, it's another tool in my tweaking tool box, part of the process of getting those games looking as good as possible, while performing as well as they can.

One great thing is you can up your resolution if you need to push your GPU harder, great for those wanting to go beyond "maximum" settings. With DSR, there's always another gear you can go for, so "overkill" is now pretty much a thing of the past.

I have the g-sync monitor though and I am losing 20 fps when I up my 1080p monitor to 1440p with DSR. I am averaging about 58 fps with 2550p and over 75 in 1080p. I just installed a 970 gpu today. I guess my question is if 58-60 fps in Farcry 4 is considered good and if it is worth losing about 20 fps for 1440p. Thanks for your help.

Thanks--I am leaving DSR out of Farcry4 and I am getting about 76-80 fps in 1080p and its smooth,so that's how I'll leave it.
