Using OEM motherboard in new case?

ok, here's the quick summary:
i want to upgrade my graphics card to a GTX560 ti, but my current case does not have enough space and airflow, so i want to buy a new one from newegg or somewhere else and just move my OEM motherboard to the new case.
my computer is a upgraded compaq presario cq5221F, with a pegatron NARRA5 motherboard.

Questions:
1. Do you know if i need to install spacers on the OEM mobo? (i've done builds for other people before, so i know how to install a motherboard.)
2. What case should i get? I would like it to be under USD $50 just to be cheap, and preferably a bottom mounted PSU with adequate airflow.
3. I can't tell if the backplate comes out. How can I check without having to remove the motherboard?

Current GPU: MSI N9800GT OC
Planned upgrade to: EVGA GTX560 ti superclocked

(The heatsink I installed on my cpu is ridiculously hard to install, could i lift the mobo out with the heatsink and RAM still attached to it safely?)

I like cases that let you see inside the case, but if it looks good with no glass (like the NZXT phantom)

The reason i have a OEM office computer is because it was a gift from a friend and I didn't feel like starting a new build.

I recently moved an aftermarket bd into a case replacing a narra2 bd without issues so I beleive going the other way should be fine. Feel free to leave the cpu, heatsink, and ram in during the move; I do. The backplate should fit, being an atx standard, but if it doesn't dont worry about leaving it out. Just have some positive pressure airflow and dust wont be able to get in.

You might want to check your local pc shops, they often have used cases at great prices.

kk, there's some shops around here, and just another question, did you have to install spacers in the OEM case? i know some OEM boards just have a little lever that pops the motherboard out.

oh, i just took a look inside and it looks like the screws holding the motherboard on the edges won't match with the case, judging from the pictures ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146058 ), is that case compatable with my OEM mobo? also, looking at the screws, they might not fit into the screw holes on the case. cheap bastards used the same screw for almost everything on the case.

Nope, it was a perfect fit for the Asus micro atx board. Even the backplate fit fine. It installs/removes just like an aftermarket boards would.

Edit - I haven't seen you mention a power supply and I beleive the 560ti superclock needs about 180w (about 75 more than your 9800gt) under load so about a 460w quality PSU would suit you well and have it (the PSU) under about a 70% load.

The Challenger case has an excellent reputation, I have never used it myself.

And you are right, now that you mention it, the lower front screw standoff was not there so I was not able to support that corner of the mobo. But since there is nothing there but the leds/power switch connectors there wasn't a huge need for support under that corner anyways.

I still have that narra board and i can test fit it in an aftermarket case tomorrow to be sure. At worst you may have to insulate that corner from the standoff (if the standoff cant be removed).
