Using OpenGL and not DirectX

I have a pc at work that is protected with administrator rights and from time to time i have some free time on my hands and like to play games. The problem is i can't install directX because of administrator rights and most openGL games are not fast games (something i can play on a break). Can i instal directX without the installer (i usualy install the games on my flash drive and copy/paste them on the pc)? can i force the games to use opengl and not directx? do you know any indie games or rogue like games that use open gl ? the games i know about is from the wiki page from here. Any idea is welcome.

I would go to your IT guys and say to them what you just posted here, and ask if they'd give you the admin password.

hope your boss do not read this you will have more then free time to play directx games at home .

Windows comes with DirectX built in, your issue is likely not that but the capabilities of the video card.
