Using oracle virtualbox to install windows 7 but the installation hangs upon ins

I am using Oracle VM virtualbox on Linux, and when I install Windows 7 from a disk it hangs upon installion, I have tried reinstallaing on quiet a number of occasions but it still does the same thing.
Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

It should just work.

Are you installing from a physical DVD, or is it an ISO image? Is it a genuine Windows DVD?

At which point does it hang?

Do you get the "Boot from CD/DVD?" message? If not you may need to change the boot order in the VM's BIOS.
