Is it possible to use parts from a past build to build a new computer with only a few things changed like case, added SSD,power supply, added graphics card, and motherboard. Also is it possible to switch the OS from the HDD to the SDD and still be usable on the new build.

Solution
Using the old parts like RAM & CPU on the new motherboard would depend on make & model of board - - the RAM & CPU have to be compatible with it, the board manufacturer's website will yield that information.

With a different motherboard you will have to re-install Windows on your new build, you can't 'move' it from your old one. Some claim they've done it successfully but they are usually speaking too soon, assorted problems await them as the weeks go buy.
