Hi

I have a new flat screen tv which is connected to a dedicated laptop via hdmi.

My tv is streamed via websites thro the hdmi cable into the flat screen. This is how i view tv as well as my own personal MP4s.

Can i use a wireless air remote mouse handset to control the mouse on the laptop without the flat screen tv picking it up and confusing it with the tv control handset ?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=wireless+keyboard+air+mouse+remote+control+windows&ref=nb_sb_noss

So far example, when i'm binging on netflix series and i want to select 'next episode' button at the moment i have to physically get up and go and click 'next episode' using a generic mouse connected to the laptop.
I want to be able to stay seated and use the air mouse to select next episode on the netflix streaming page on the laptop.

My tv is LG make and their 'magic'handsets also have a dedicated mouse for selecting options on the tv screen.

So my question is; will introducing two handsets - tv remote and air mouse cause problems with the tv or will it work ok ?

NB. I know some will be tempted to signpost me to the tv's own menu systems to access streaming services but i prefer the laptop to tv via hdmi connection because my laptop is a far better internet surfing machine than my tv - and it means i don't have to tune my tv and that means i don't get flagged up as having to pay a UK tv license.

Thanks for your time and attention.

I would use a small wireless keyboard and mouse to run the laptop you are using to play media, keep by by where you are sitting. I use it all the time, it even works on most TVs and will help with entering movie titles. Backlit to use in darker room (which you will have when watching movies) and get a light color to help find it easier when the kids move it somewhere.

This one has bluetooth to connect without a separate USB dongle https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Bluetooth-Touchpad&QWERTY-Smartphones-Raspberry/dp/B01FXDVYU8?ref_=ast_sto_dp

cheaper no bluetooth
