I have a PSU that supplies 220W max, constantly, a Voltron pro 225x
The thing is it is divided into 3v, 5v and 12v rails, each with a maximum output rating (all individually under 200W)
I am wondering if the "maximum output rating" is Maximum under computer usage, or is a hard ceiling that i cannot breach even if I am not using the other voltages at all.
I do not intend to use the 3v and 5v rails at all, but i have 2 peltier elements of 100W each, powered by 12v input.
Do I need to get a different PSU instead?

"Maximum" can be sustained, or peak. From the very little I can find on that PSU-shaped object, it's really poor quality. I wouldn't trust that it could do those numbers, or even close to them.

Even if you're not using 3v and 5v, that doesn't 'free up' anything else for the 12v rails.

Yes, you need a different PSU. You need an actual PSU, not a fancy looking doorstop.

Where are you located? What kind of budget do you have? What hardware do you intend to run from any giiven PSU?
