Using RAID 0 with partitions?

I have two hard drives, both 750gb and would like to raid part of them. If I put two partitions on each drive, then used RAID 0 on one partition of each drive would it work? I am not saying that I would split one drive and raid it, I would split two and raid half of each. I want the speed of raid 0 for the operating system and programs but I don't need that much speed for my files and I don't want them on the raid. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

RAID (any level) applies to the entire physical hard drive, not selected partitions.

You can't RAID just one partition on each physical hard drive.
