Hi, I have an old Matrox G400 Max dual head video card.
The second DB15 port can be configured as a TV out. Can I
use this port to connect to the VIDEO IN port of my capture
card? The capture card an S-Video input, along with a small
converter for a composite video signal.

Thanks,
Rick

The answer is yes - you can connect your tv-out to your video-in.

However I suspect that's not your real question is it? :)

Cool. Where can I get a short cable with a male DB15 on
one end and a male S-video or composite on the other?

Thanks,
Rick

I believe that your G400 dual head card should have come with one
short double cable with both an S-video cable end and a composite
(yellow) video cable end for attaching to either of those two video
formats. I ran a six-foot monitor cable from the second monitor plug
on the card to a switch, from which I ran a second monitor cable back
to a second monitor, and from the other switch port I hooked up the
dual cable (less than 12 inches long) to feed either S-video or
composite to a TV. That way I don't have to crawl behind the computer
to change from computer monitor to TV; just flip the switch on the
desk.

If you no longer have the dual pigtail cable, you may need to purchase
a new one from Matrox.

I bought mine directly from Matrox. Go to the Matrox web site and look for
their online store.

Thanks all. I had forgotten that my G400 came with this cable!
