Good afternoon,

I have an external HDD connected via USB 3.0 on which I need to copy over a software to in a functioning matter. I work a lot on said software which is 3ds Max and since I am constantly on the go, sometimes I may not have access to my laptop or desktop pc. Especially when I need to work from school and they do not have it installed.

Is it feasible for me to run the software off of my external HDD once connected to any PC? If so, how can I do so?

I do know it will perform poorly being it is running off of an external HDD but its simply to be able to access it at any given time especially during downtime in classes and/or work. So I'd work from it briefly.

It is installed on my desktop PC which has Windows 8.1 Pro in the case that may help with solutions.

Thank you for any replies and solutions given in advance.

You can't do that for a couple reasons. It violates the user agreement on the software (most likely), and it has to be installed rather than just run.
