Using SSD without 2.5inch to 3.5 adapter?

I ordered an SSD and it arrives tomorrow, but now I've realized I didn't order a 2.5 to 3.5 inch adapter so I could put the SSD on a 3.5 bay (my case doesn't have 2.5). I don't have another HD so I really don't wanna wait a week more without a PC just for that adapter.

Is it ok to use the SSD if I just leave it on the floor of the case? I know they don't have any moving parts but I just want to make sure.

You should be OK with leaving the SSD on the floor of the case until you can order the adapter.

I have even placed a third HDD on the floor of my case.

Yes, that's fine. On one of my systems, the SSD is Velcro'd to the top of the HDD cage.
On another, it was resting on the case floor for ages.
