Using the Same OS on Another Drive?

I want to change (upgrade) my drive and using the same WIN 8.1 key. Is it possible toI format the current drive and use the key on the new one without having to buy a new key?

No, with only one exception, and that is your copy of Windows 8 must be retail. You cannot move an OEM copy of Windows 8 from one machine to another.

If this is in the same system, other than the actual drive, yes you can.
If you've changed other parts as well, like the motherboard, no, you can't.
