Hi guys,

I just purchased a Gigabyte GTX 770 4gb video card (Model #: 04G-P4-3774-KR, Rev 2.0), which uses 2 8-pin pci-e connectors. However, I have an old Thermaltake Toughpower 750w non-modular power supply which comes with 2 6-pin pci-e cables, but zero 8-pin pci-e cables. The video card came with two 2-molex to 8-pin pci-e adapters, and so I was wondering if it is safe to use both of the adapters. If so, will doing so limit the performance of the card? I won't be overclocking the card beyond the factory overclock. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your quick response Someone Somewhere. I opened up my computer case and found that the P/N of my power supply is W0117RU (the specs can be found at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153036 ). I'll go ahead and take your recommendation of using multiple chains. If OCP kicks in, will my computer shut down or return an error message, or will I not really know if it occurs (sorry I'm not very familiar with OCP)? Thanks again.

Thanks again for your reply. Is there any harm (either to the graphics card, psu, and/or rest of my computer) that can occur if I try the two 2-molex to 8-pin adapters? Would you recommend just buying a 6-pin to 8-pin adapter or new psu right off the bat without trying? i was hoping to save some money by not upgrading my psu, but I don't want to damage my components either. Thanks again.
