Is this possible? I have a Zotac GeForce GTX 760 card and a 1280 x 1024 monitor connected to a vga adaptor for DisplayPort and a 1440 x 900 monitor on DVI. Is there a way to extend the 1440 x 900 monotor without changing its resolution? Thank you! (windows 8.1, nvidia drivers)

Windows should allow for multiple resolutions based on max resolution for the monitors - however, the desktop wall paper is only displayed based on the main monitor's resolution (i.e. main monitor = 1024 x 768, 2nd monitor = 1920 x 1080, the wallpaper will not cover the entire desktop.

Okay, I've seen online that it "should" but I can't get it to work. It automatically lowers the main monitor resolution, and doesn't let me change it back.
