Xmp makes system unstable how do I manually oc them to their rated 3000 on msi x570 with 3600
they're working fine right now at 2133.
Also I wanted to oc them a little further in the future anyway.
they're corsair vengaince lpx
Untill I get this figured out ill just run them both at 2133 for a while.

This is why it's always recommended to buy all RAM together as a kit.

What happens when you enable XMP? Did you check that DRAM voltage is automatically changed to the correct value (as per the specs for the XMP profile)?

Have the latest BIOS?

No I didn't check. I ended up having to pull the mobo battery. Now both ram sticks
working fine at 2133. I heard its risky to update the bios.

Biggest risk with updating BIOS is if it gets interrupted, e.g. loss of power. So don't do it in the middle of a storm, and if you live somewhere with spotty power maybe consider a UPS. Other than that, just make sure you do the update through the BIOS (rather than using a program in Windows) and you should be fine.
