Using Ultrawide as a monitor/tv setup

I was thinking about getting a 3444x1440 ultrawide monitor setup to replace my outdated dual monitor setup. However, I am not sure which flavor of ultrawide to go with, flat or curved. While the main use is going to be at desk work, I live in a dorm and will be moving to an apartment soon and would like to be able to use this monitor to almost double as a TV so I can watch movies and such from my bed. I was wondering if this even would work, and if so does the curve affect the viewing when viewed from distance such as this. Thanks!!!

A curved screen at such a small size will look pretty terrible from far away, so I would not recommend going with a curved monitor.

An expensive alternative is to get the monitor, but also buy a TV to hook up to your computer to watch movies.
