Question Using W11 to repair install a W10 OS?

Do you mean to boot into Win 10 and then start the Win 11 upgrade? That might work. Depends on how broken Win 10 is. A clean install is always the better option.

Not sure how broken it is. I need to play with it more. Nothing really important on it either. I was moving SATA cables around trying to get it to work better with a dead battery after it gets unplugged, so the boot drive loads first by default, and then after a few intentional restarts to check bios, W10 no longer loads, BSOD.

Ya, I will not even try W11 now unless for a new fresh install. I think I just needed someone else to be that inner voice that tells me not to do something when I do not want to listen to my own voice telling me the same thing. Thanks.

What BSOD? There is some relevant info in there.

It's not like you have a choice. Microsoft decided that since Windows never breaks anymore, you can only do an upgrade or repair install from the desktop of a running system. Boot from the media and you can only do a clean install (but if you choose not to format, it can move your old install to Windows.old while it does so)

No, nothing important on the SSD that got corrupted. Hopefully, deleting the partitions and reformatting it during install fixed it. I just did a clean install of W11 Home. Thanks everyone.
