Hey I might hate Microsoft but this thing is rock solid stable from a working mans point of view. Sure some games and hardware wont run but over all I'm very happy with this operating system.

I'm very happy with Win2k too. IT IS rock stable, even more stable than NT. I do however experience problems with upgrading graphic drivers. That's why I gave up with keeping up to date and I'm using Detonator 3.78 drivers. I've noticed only 2 games that don't run with Win2k. These are Need For Speed 4 and Castrol Honda Superbike 2000. Need For Speed 5 DOES run with Win2k. Ah, and I AM using dual boot configuration but with Linux :O)

I've tried D2 on Win2k, and all my harddrive seems to do is crank all day while it tries to load levels. I've noticed that not using Direct 3D has made the game run 100x better.

Hey,

No one ever though of it this way. Win2k has dual processor support. Weeeeeeeeelllllllll, you get a dual PIII system, and slap Unreal Tourny on there and you have a very nice game.

Unfortunately dual processor support is needed in both the operating system as wrll as the software... most games now do not support SMP. However 3D Studio MAX does
