Hi, i have a pc here at home that's pretty old (like 2012 i think) and it originally had a Windows 7 Home Basic license, years later i upgraded it to Windows 10 using the 1 year free upgrade Microsoft offered, however, months after this i installed Linux;

After years of use, i decided to install Windows 10 again, so i used the OEM key that's in my pc case;

So, is this legal? Is my key associated with Windows 10 since i upgraded or it's still a Windows 7 key?

Solution
Yes, legal, and you didn't even need to use whatever license key you had.
The Upgrade to Win 10 conferred to you a digital license. Details held at the mothership.

A new fresh install would have activated itself anyway.
