Question Using windows 7 pro key to activate Windows 10

I bought a computer which came with windows 7 pro, I extracted the key from it and wrote it down.

the I swapped the hdd with a SSD and did a clean install of windows 10..I used the win7 pro's key to activate windows 10 but it doesn't activate...

How do I fix this issue ?

What happens if you don't activate windows 10 ?

You lose a few customization options , otherwise it runs fine.
